My Good Intentions Never End

But Jimmy will have to wait.

[ The title of this non-book review is from the lyrics of the song Best Laid Plans by James Blunt. The song is from his 2010 studio album Some Kind of Trouble. While the album recieved mixed reviews when released it has sold over a million copies worldwide. You can listen to James sing this song here. ]

WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO

Since my last post Tony and I have flown to Spain and met up with his sister and her partner in Madrid. They flew here from their home town of Brisbane Australia. As you read this Thursday morning the four of us will be on a train from Madrid to the town of Oviedo in northern Spain, where our Camino Primitivo walking pilgrimage will begin in just a few more days.

While I've managed to get three-quarters of the way through Jonathon Alters’ biography of Jimmy Carter I'm not done yet, so have no review for you this week. In the book, events are moving to the fall of the Shah is Iran, the return of the exiled Ayatollah, and the taking of 66 Americans as hostages in Iran. So much is yet to unfold.

I may make some progress on this book over the next few weeks, but as we'll be traveling light any progress will be made by reading on my phone. I won't be in a position to write a review for a while.

So my best guess is I'll be back to you the second week of September.

In the meantime, enjoy the photo below of a portion of the over 2000 year old Roman aqueduct still standing in the town of Segovia, Spain, that we toured today.

See you next month!

Steve
